FAQs

The www.cheap-contract-hire-cars.co.uk is owned and maintained by Gleneve who place deals on the site which are currently on offer from UK franchised dealerships. You would deal direct with the dealership should you be interested in proceeding.

What Is Contract Hire?
It's a contract between you and the finance company for a new car or van which you hire over a set period of time at a set monthly rate at an agreed mileage allowance.

What Happens At The End?
You simply hand the vehicle back. Be wary though that it will be thoroughly inspected and you will be charged for any damage, excess mileage or lack of appropriate maintenance so although the deals are often good from a financial point of view there are obligations and therefore you must consider everything carefully before proceeding.

What Are My Obligations?
You must maintain the car in good order and have it regularly serviced at the appropriate intervals. On returning the car you will be billed for any repairs deemed necessary, not having had it serviced appropriately or if you've exceed the mileage limit. You are responsible for insuring the car and replacing any consumeable such as tyres, wiper blades, etc.

Can I Buy The Car At The End?
Not officially and they don't have to sell it to you, but most companies will allow you to make an offer to buy it outright and quite often at a good price because it's more convenient for them, so it's always worth asking!

Can I Get Out Of The Deal Half Way Through?
Yes, but it can be very expensive to end a contract early as there are very heavy penalties, so it is very important that you set the deal up at a level which you will be happy with for the full term. If you are unsure then definitely DON'T sign up for a contract deal but consider more flexible financing alternatives.

Do I Get Free Road Tax?
Yes. Road tax is included for the duration of the deal because the car belongs to the finance company and therefore the DVLA contacts them when RFL is due. They will normally post the tax disc to you in time for the renewal.

What About Servicing?
You are responsible for appropriate servicing at the car at a suitable garage. You can opt in to a maintenance contract as well which will cover these costs, although it's usually more cost effective to organise it yourself seperately.

Is The Car Under Warranty?
Yes. For the first three years or appropriate mileage limit the new car will be covered by the manufacturers warranty which is valid at any of their dealerships. You should inform the finance company first though if any fault develops.

Is Contract Hire Right For Me?
Contract hire is a simple and straightforward way to be driving a new vehicle at an affordable level, however in our opinion it's more appropriate for business users that more fully understand the implications. If you are a personal user then you need to consider very carefully if it's the right product for you as it is a very rigid contract - ALWAYS read the entire terms and conditions provided, and take independent advice wherever possible.
